When the word Humility can mean so much.  It can be applied in so many ways.

Definitions of humble on the Web:

  • low or inferior in station or quality; “a humble cottage”; “a lowly parish priest”; “a modest man of the people”; “small beginnings”
  • marked by meekness or modesty; not arrogant or prideful; “a humble apology”; “essentially humble…and self-effacing, he achieved the highest formal honors and distinctions”- B.K.Malinowski
  • cause to be unpretentious; “This experience will humble him”

  • Now the true question is, how should we look at this word in reference to how we should live our lives as Christian?

I belive in the big picture, True humility is keeping an accurate perception of who you are.

Who are you as a Christian husband?  First, you are an adopted son of God, the bride of Jesus who is commanded to do for your wife, what Jesus has done for you.   You must give up your life to your bride which gives her the turn to give herself to you.  Here is a list to get the process started.

Ways to show humility to your spouse

-Be selfless, putting your spouse first.
-Be consistent with small acts of service
-Welcome advice from your spouse on many topics and problems
-Be quick to admit when you are wrong
-Accept apologies and offer forgiveness quickly and freely
-Respond graciously when you are really right and your spouse is wrong
